The Nemunas Delta Regional Park is a bird’s paradise, in spring and autumn especially. During the spring and autumn migrations spectacular flocks of birds stay here. In spring you can observe up to 100 different species of birds within one day. Summer time in Nemunas Delta Regional Park is attractive with its butterfly and insect diversity. During the 7 day tour you will have the opportunity to see the unique natural landscape, local traditions and all natural wilderness.
An experienced ornithologist will accompany you throughout the trip, tell you the most interesting facts about the birds you observe, and answer any questions you may have during the trip.
Day 1: Airport pick-up, trip to the Nemunas Delta. Dinner on the way, overnight in the delta.
Day 2: Breakfast, short tour of Rusnė town, sightseeing tour of Rusnė island (fish smoking traditions, traditional boat building, reed cutting, herb picking, fish coup cooking and tasting), free time, dinner, overnight stay.
Day 3: Breakfast, boat trip around the Nemunas Delta to visit the village of Mingė (fisherman’s museum, tradition of catching European smelt), lunch. Excursion to Uostadvaris water lift station, lighthouse. Swimming on polder canals, dinner, overnight stay.
Day 4: Breakfast, bus trip around the Nemunas Delta: Aukštumala sightseeing trail, Ventė horn (ornithological station), bird ornithologist education, lunch, excursion in Kintai town, dinner.
Day 5: Breakfast, bus trip to Šilutė (H. Šojus Manor, educational activities: “Lithuanian culinary heritage”, “East Prussian Customs”, “Staging of Soviet repression”, Šilutė City Museum, Evangelical Lutheran Church, Old Prison, Macikai concentration camp ), dinner, overnight.
Day 6: Breakfast, trip to Rambynas Hill to visit Rambynas Regional Park with Old Wedding Staging, Museum Exhibitions, Culinary Heritage, Dinner.
Day 7: Breakfast (or box), airport trip.
